National Suicide Prevention Week- 2023
OBSERVATION OF NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION WEEK
The Department of Psychiatry at Malabar Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Modakkallur, Atholi observed National Suicide Prevention Week-(10 September 2023 to 16 September 2023). Students took out a rally to create public awareness on Suicide Prevention at Ulliyeri. Informative placards were displayed in the rally. Pamphlets conveying information regarding the causative and preventive measures of suicide were distributed to the general public. An awareness talk highlighting the theme of World Suicide Prevention Day was released in the You-Tube. Poster Designing competitions highlighting the theme was called for among all the students and innumerable entries were received. A 24-hour helpline has been offered to the general public with the aim to render timely intervention for the needy.
